TPP: Shobana in Manichitrathazhu.

At this particular moment, I wish I could flip my shit the way Shobana does from 0:40 to about 1:14. But I don't think some folks would appreciate it. Fuckers.

SFR: "Kaala Kaala" from Kaalai

"Kutti Pisase" used to be my favorite song, now it's this one. I was suprised to learn that Mamta Mohandas is the female singer. It made me like her a little bit more. (Not that I ever hated her, I was just kind of "eh" about her.)

Vedhika is so cute, and she has a great figure. Plus, she's a Sridevi fan, which adds about 25 extra bonus points to her kitty. I'm not exactly dying to watch Malai Malai, Sangama, or Sakkarakatti, but if they show up on bhavanidvd, I might order them, just to see her.

SFR: "Gona Gona Gona" from Athidi

This song has been in my head all day. I blogged about the movie here.

I can't believe Mahesh is 35. I think he looks about 10 years younger. I wish he would do another movie with Shriya. I liked what little screen time they had together in Arjun.

SFR: Manmathan theme

The more I rewatch Manmathan, the deeper in love I fall with this track. Simbu looks hot, but I can do without Mandira Bedi.

SFR: "Laiyan Laiyan..." from Chooriyan

I watched parts of this on YouTube over a year ago. This review is a lot more descriptive than my faulty memory.

SFR: "Kelamal Kaiyile" from Azhagiya Tamil Magan

If you're interested(or really, really bored), I posted about it here.

This song has been in my head all day. (Which isn't a bad thing, because I like it :))

SFR: Jaganmohini(2009) trailer

I am seriously sad that this movie isn't airing on late-night cable right now. The "special effects" alone are laughable enough to bring me out of my funk. And the little of Namitha's "acting" I saw appeared equally as hilarious.

Nila, the second heroine, was apparently upset that some of her scenes were cut. I say that's a good thing, but I guess she feels sorta like that Catskills joke.

I kind of want to watch the 1978 version now, just to confirm my belief that it's not nearly as cringe-worthy. Plus, I finally remember Jayamalini from Ram Lakshman and Guru(1980). I think I have another movie she was in, but I can't recall the title.

SFR: Hazel Crowney

In the "Dil Kalaase" song from Kick. This is the edited version. The full version with the dialogues is here.

I think she should forget about Bollywood and do Telugu movies. For whatever reason(s), I can easily picture her mouthing dubbed lines opposite a 20-something hero in a Tollywood flick. Which is weird, because when I first noticed her a couple of years ago, I felt she was too "foreign"(read: white) looking to make it in Hindi films. Yet, I think she might do okay in Hyderabad. Go figure. Anyway...

TPP: Shobhana in Manichitrathazhu.

Last week, this seemed like a good idea:

But now, I'm drawn to the idea of falling into a black hole and having whatever's left of my remains scattered into the universe.

If I were into writing fan fiction, I'd put my own R or NC-17 rated spin on this movie, because that's how my mind works. In some ways, I liked the Kannada remake, Apthamitra better; in others, I preferred the Mallu original. I'd try to explain why, but I don't feel like it right now. Maybe one day. Or never. **shrug**

SFR: Sana Khan

Yeah, I'm a stan-in-training. I have an irrational liking for this girl.

Her episode of Bollywood Cribs: Click here 'cuz it's not embeddable. I thought it was kinda boring, actually, but again, stan-in-training. (Like the floral print couch, btw.)

Her promo song for Bombay To Goa(2007): This wasn't embeddable, either.

Her Cobra soda ad:

According to India Glitz, she'll play the love interest of Sibiraj in the half-completed Santhupottu. I hope she signs more Tamil films. She doesn't have to become a huge star, just work often enough where I won't have to ask, "Whatever happened to that girl--uh, Sana...Khan--from Silambattam?"

ETA: She has a small speaking part during the first few minutes of Halla Bol, from 5:21 - 6:17.

She can also be seen from about 0:05 - 0:08 and 3:02 - 3:13 in the "Is Pal Ki Soch" song from the same movie:

SFR: Priyanka Trivedi

In the "Hoove Hoove" song from H20. I'm sorta tempted to impulse buy it just because I've developed a slight crush on her after Raja.

Ninaithen Vanthaai(1998)

If only I had known this was the second feature on the Dhanam 2-in-1 DVD when bhavani had it in stock! I could finish watching it online, but I'm old-fashioned and prefer watching movies on my TV, so at the moment, I'm clinging to the possibility that it's available from anytamil. If not, I'll suck it up and sit in front of my computer.

I <3 Rambha, and I <3 her even more when she's swinging from a tree à la Drew Barrymore in the opening scene of Poison Ivy ;) Toss in a sweetly dorky-looking Vijay and it's the seemingly perfect combo for a "Must watch, even if it sucks" flick. One reviewer referred to this movie as "The Tamil Hum Aapke Hain Koun...! without the tragedy". I thought HAHK was boring as hell(granted, I watched only a half-hour or so, but still...) but again, Rambha + Vijay = can't be that bad(and if what I've viewed so far is any indication, it's not).

So far, I found only the "Vanna Nilave" song on YouTube:

Rambha, the star of Vijay's dreams

The rest of the songs can be heard here.

NFR: Sana Khan(again), Lakshmi Rai, and Vijayalakshmi

I was surfing YouTube and came across these clips from Vijay TV's "Challenge With Simbu" Diwali special last year. Sana's segments in part one are from 3:29 - 5:00 and 6:27 - 8:23.

I think Lakshmi looks gorgeous. I love her eyes, her lips, and her nose. Vijayalakshmi isn't bad, either. I think she kinda resembles Priyamani(link to YouTube interview).

More clips:
Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5

NFR: Sana Khan

I was reading an old interview with Sana Khan and it mentioned that she appeared in commercials with Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar, so I did a search on YouTube and here they are:

Fair & Handsome ad with Shah Rukh Khan
She's at 0:06 - 0:07, 0:16 - 0:19, and 0:41 - 0:44

Xbox 360 ad with Akshay Kumar
She's at 0:14 - 0:23 and 0:37 - 0:49

Just for the record, I neither endorse nor support fairness creams. I think they're stupid and a waste of time and money. I posted the video solely because Sana is in it.

I love her so much, I'm willing to interrupt my hiatus.

AND break my "text only" rule(which I already broke with the Amar post, but anyway...) Sridevi and Chiranjeevi in Mosagadu. Sadly, this doesn't appear to be available on even VCD(at least not in or to the U.S.). **cries** I'd get it on VHS if I knew of an online retailer that sold Indian movies on tape.

Oh Sri, how I love thee!
