SLO-in-training: Varalaxmi Sarathkumar

As I mentioned in this entry, she's Sarathkumar's daughter and the heroine of Podaa Podi, one of Simbu's upcoming films. If her Wiki stub can be believed, she's also a fellow Pisces, which appeals to my dippy side.

Facially, she reminds me of Sonam Kapoor. But unlike Sonam, she actually piques my interest.

Images are from the July 2009 issue of Galatta Cinema.

Former SLO: Nisha Kothari

Last night, I watched Madhyanam Hatya(later remade in Hindi as My Wife's Murder) and sort of fell in love with her again. I used to be somewhat obsessed with her; not in a stalkerish way, but in a "I wish I were a cute, young plaything 'muse' of a 'maverick' film director obsessed with my legs and butt, too!" way. And she was a Sridevi fan, which automatically added 25 bonus points to her kitty. I've since moved on but I still think she's cute, and maybe someday I'll watch RGV Ki Aag, just to see if it's really as bad as critics have claimed. Raaj the Showman is another possibility, even though I find Puneet Rajkumar rather unappealing.

I found these caps on the internet a while back. They're from the "Chadti Jawani" remix video she did with Negar Khan and another model whose name I don't know.

At-the-moment SLO: Rose Dawn

AKA Hazel Keech

She's an ad film model who's probably best known for her appearance in the "Kahin Pe Nigahen" music video. ETA 02/02/10: Here's a pic of the CD cover:

She had a bit part in Billa(2007) and recently made her Indian stage debut in Raell Padamsee's play "1-888-DIAL-INDIA".

On the 'net: A short interview from two years ago

On YouTube: A couple of ads for TNG apparel

A few caps from Billa. 1-4 are from the "Sei Ethavathu Sei" song:

Some photos I swiped from the ACE Productions site:

Current SLO: Jacqueline Fernandez

She's a former Miss Sri Lanka who made her Bollywood debut in the recently released Aladin. Her next film is Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai, "a rom-com with a lot of sci-fi and special effects." (Source) According to the same site, she was supposed to do a movie with John Abraham, but after Aladin flopped, the director apparently had second thoughts about signing her.

I think she has an interesting, sorta sexy look. At certain angles, she kind of resembles Eva Mendes.

ETA 12/18/09: She looks really good in this video interview with Bollywood Hungama. I don't see the resemblance to Katrina Kaif at all, but on film, I think she resembles a much younger, more attractive version of a certain "adult actress" from back in the day. I might have to check out Aladin if either Nehaflix or Induna lists it for $5 or less.

Latest SLO: Shobhana

I've always thought she was gorgeous but today, at this particular moment, I am All About Shobhana, mainly because she has inspired me in an unexpected, but much-needed way.

I passed on Ennakul Oruvan but decided to try my luck with Aayiram Kannukal. It's probably not in stock :( I should've ordered it back when I was half-watching it online.

Why, oh why, isn't Innale on VCD at least? If I knew of a reliable source for VHS tapes, I'd try to hunt down some of these older titles that aren't available on DVD or VCD.

Latest SLO: Priya Gill

I like her face. She kinda reminds me of Babita. I wonder if Jee Aayan Nu is worth buying?

Current SLO: Farheen

I want to thank this clipping that I found on Indomania for making me aware of her existence. I may get Kalaignan after all.

A few caps from Nazar Ke Samne:

Current SLO: Sana Khan.

SLO = Short-Lived Obsession

She made her debut in the wonderfully hot mess that was Silambattam(speaking of which, should I get the 2-in-1 DVD or wait for the Ayngaran version?) and will be seen next in Thambikku Intha Ooru, opposite Bharath. She's an ad model who's best known for the "controversial" Amul Macho underwear ad. She recently filmed another version of that ad.

Tiny screencaps from first Macho Amul ad.

Facially, she reminds me of Simran, which is probably why I like her. I hope she does more Tamil films solely because I think she's pretty and sexy and a decent dancer.
