I had a feeling of déjà vu from about 0:32 to 0:37, and then I remembered seeing a similar scene in an eighties flick starring Tawny Kitaen. I forget the title, and I'm too lazy to Google, but IIRC, she was a famous singer and one of her fans was a guy who, because of his rare disease, could not have any physical contact with the outside world.
